HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT
WHAT IS HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT
Hidden In Plain Sight is a four-week devotional designed to guide you into a deeper understanding of Scripture — not simply reading it, but truly pausing each day to reflect, meditate, and consider how God’s Word is meant to shape every part of our lives. Each week includes six days of devotional content built around a specific verse or passage. For each day, you’ll find:
A carefully selected Scripture
A devotion that unpacks the passage and invites reflection
Space to journal your thoughts or what God may be speaking to you
Six to ten discussion questions to prompt deeper thinking or group conversation
A section to write a personal prayer in response to what you’ve learned
The seventh day is set apart as a Sabbath Day, recognizing that you’ll likely be attending a local church and receiving biblical teaching. This day’s page offers a different rhythm, with space to:
Practice gratitude for how God has worked in your life over the past week
Remember key insights or verses that stood out
Reflect on how the truths you’ve read should change the way you live
Pray, closing the week with a personal response to God
While this devotional can certainly be used on your own, it’s designed with community in mind. There is something deeply powerful — even supernatural — about studying and discussing God’s Word with others. Time and time again, I’ve experienced new insights come to light simply by processing Scripture with a friend, a small group, or another pastor.
One of my deepest hopes is that this resource would become a tool for families — parents and teens, husbands and wives — to draw near to God together. Scripture doesn’t just inform us; it transforms us. And as it forms our hearts and habits, it also builds and strengthens the communities we’re part of — starting with the family. Imagine the impact of choosing, day after day, to open God’s Word as a family: reading, discussing, and growing together in faith. There is life-changing power in that.
